| OSHO MEDITATIONS |
Meditation is a science, not a superstition. Meditation is not some spiritual discipline apart from everyday life. In its essence, it is simply the art of being aware - aware of what is going on inside us and around us.
In Buddha's time people were more relaxed and their lives were simpler. Now life moves at a much faster pace, which creates much more stress and tension. Just sitting directly in silent meditation is not so easy. If you can sit, not doing anything, this is the ultimate in meditation - but can you sit? Can you just sit doing nothing?
Osho says his meditations deal with the contemporary man, who is the most restless being that has ever evolved on the earth. His understanding is that we must go through a cleansing process before we can begin to experience the silence and stillness of true meditation. The 'Osho Active Meditations' therefore start with one or more stages of intense activity to bring our physical and mental energies to a peak, so that the following stage becomes an experience of silence - leaving us alert, refreshed, and energized.
